METHOD OF FORMATION OF DIRECTIVITY CHARACTERISTIC OF HYDROACOUSTIC ANTENNA Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2169439 C1

FIELD: underwater acoustics, development of sonar equipment. SUBSTANCE: technical objective consists in simplification of technique of processing of signals to provide for formation of directivity characteristics of acoustically transparent hydroacoustic antennas. Method of formation of directivity characteristic of hydroacoustic antenna made of electroacoustic receivers positioned on two equidistant closed curves includes signal processing by algorithm of formation of cardioid directivity characteristic for two receivers placed at distance equal to distance between curves. Signals from output of each receiver are delayed by time equal to time of travel of sound wave from point on curve nearest to this receiver and passing through the middle between curves on which receivers are located to any straight line common to all receivers which is perpendicular to direction of principal maximum and does not cross mentioned mean curve. Then delayed signals are summed up within limits of four groups of receivers and cardioid characteristic of directivity is formed from these summary signals. EFFECT: simplified method of processing of signals. 1 cl, 3 dwg
