FIELD: non- ferrous metallurgy; thermomechanical treatment of titanium alloys; manufacture of plates from slabs which are stamped or forged in β-field by hot lengthwise rolling lengthwise-and-cross rolling. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in preliminary two-stage rolling; at first stage, slab is heated to temperature below polymorphic transformation temperature by 30 to 40 C and at reduction of 3 to 6% to total degree of strain of 20 to 30%; at second stage, rolling is effected to total degree of strain of 15 to 90% accompanied by heating the workpiece before beginning of strain to temperature which exceeds polymorphic transformation temperature by 60 to 130 C; final rolling is effected in ((α+β)) field in 2 to 4 steps at total degree of strain in one direction not exceeding 75% at temperature of work-piece below polymorphic transformation temperature by 30 to 200 C before each rolling procedure. Before final rolling, work-piece is subjected to annealing at temperature below polymorphic transformation temperature by 30 to 50 C.
