FIELD: electrical engineering; manufacturing high-voltage electrical machines. SUBSTANCE: circular wire rods, up to 4 mm in cross-sectional area, are wound together with turn-to-turn insulation, shaped to form hairpin coil, stretched into coils, end portions of lower and upper half-circuits are straightened, and wire rod in the form of asymmetric hairpin coil is wound; inner-circuit length of hairpin coil lic = lric, lic = lric+(5-10) mm, and lic = lric-(5-10) mm, where lric is rated length of coil inner circuit; wire rod is stretched into coil, its end portions are straightened, coil is placed in stator core, lpic and Δl are determined, where lpic is precise length of coil inner circuit; Δl is respective difference in length of lower and upper half-circuits of coil; geometry of each half of hairpin-coil template is corrected according to lpic and Δl, horizontal axis of circular wire rod wound with inner radius R = 0,159lpic is offset relative to head axis of template halves through l = sinγ•R, where γ = 20,66Δl/R; circular wire rod is shaped to form asymmetric hairpin coil.
