FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: harvester has shears-type frame with opposed units 1,2 pivotally connected through pivot hinge 7, hitched forked tools, sawing mechanism positioned at rear end of harvester, pulling devices 3 mounted in units 1,2 and adapted for supplying tree trunks, lower branch cutting knives 5,6 positioned in front part of harvester and pivotally attached to both units 1,2 of frame, and at least one upper branch cutting knife 8 attached to at least one unit. Knives 5,6 are controlled by actuating mechanism. Upper branch cutting knife 8 is secured by means of sliding parts of first and second type to both units 1,2 so that sliding parts of first type in both units 1,2 have guides approximately lying in direction of unit itself and sliding parts inserted into guides in upper branch cutting knife 8, and sliding parts of second type include at least one slider 16 and at least one curved guide 13 in one unit and are arranged so as to prevent knife 8 from rotation. Sliding parts of second type are positioned closer to common pivot hinge 7 of upper branch cutting knife 8 than sliding parts of first type.
