FIELD: metallurgy of noble metals, more particularly hallmark 585 gold based alloys intended for use in jewelry industry. SUBSTANCE: alloy comprises, wt %: gold, 58.5-59.0; silver, 4.0-30.1; zinc, 1.0-3.0; indium, 1.5-3.0; and copper, the balance. Doping of alloy with indium in combination with other components in definitely required and sufficient amount makes it possible to produce wide color range due to treating equal reflecting power in different visible spectral regions. In the case, alloy melting temperature decreases due to the fact that role of zinc additive in the presence of indium becomes greater for reducing alloy gold substrate melting temperature. Besides, standard of finess of alloy is retained through out all stages of preparation of alloy and during processing of waste thereof. EFFECT: improved properties of the alloy. 1 tbl _
