WATER INTAKE ON MUDFLOW RIVERS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: hydraulic engineering; devices for water intake from mudflow rivers. SUBSTANCE: water intake has backup spillway wall with steep gutter; water intake opening is made in section line of gutter. River flow curtain is provided in section line of steep part of dam rapids and its lower part is beveled relative to horizontal plane; water intake is provided with flushing port and flat flap gate overlapping the latter; it is joined to float by means of flexible rod and is installed in lower part of river flow curtain. Cycloid jigs are provided on surface of steep rapids. Water intake opening is made in the form of diffuser provided with curvilinear screw-shaped ducts on its internal surface; mentioned ducts are longitudinally arranged starting from largest to smaller section and are joined to annular duct arranged near smaller section. EFFECT: improved reliability under all climatic conditions due to division of multiphase medium and flow branching. 3 dwg
