WATER INTAKING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has water intaking head, submerged pump, axial vertical monoblock pump, pipeline provided with two branched vertical pits. Submerged pump is positioned in one pit and axial vertical monoblock pump is positioned in other pit. Water intaking head is put onto pontoon so as to be dipped into water with variable level and has diffuser with spiral guides formed on its inner surface, mixing chamber communicated with atmosphere via flexible pipe with nozzle and provided with curved helical grooves formed in its inner surface, confuser connected to supply pipe via flexible pipeline. Perforated insert provided with wavy openings widening in the direction of water flow and fish protection device are positioned at water inlet side of head. Apparatus is adapted for intaking water from sources with fluctuating water level. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation and provision for intaking of purest water. 3 dwg
