TECHNIQUE AND DEVICE TESTING QUALITY OF LATEX BASED ON VINYL HALOGEN-CARRYING POLYMERS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: production of polymers. SUBSTANCE: according to technique testing quality of latex based on vinyl halogen- carrying polymers in process of polymerization in aqueous emulsion light flux is directed right on mentioned emulsion, is detected and scattered light reflected by polymer particles of latex in spectral region of wave lengths from 1100 nm to 2500 nm is sent to spectrophotometer of nearest infrared region. Intensity of this light on particular wave lengths tied up by corresponding correlation equations to specific qualities of tested latex is measured. Device designed to test quality of latex in reactor in process of polymerization has measurement probe, aids of optical coupling of probe with spectrograph of nearest infrared region fitted with facilities emitting light flux and detecting scattered reflected light and computer whose storage contains above- mentioned correlation equations.
