FIELD: textile and paper.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to latex used in the paper industry and to a method for its preparation. Method is carried out by carrying out the emulsion polymerization of a mixture of the following components: 1) at least two basic monomers, one of which is selected from the group of ethylenically unsaturated esters, and the other from the group of vinyl aromatic monomers, or at least two basic monomers selected from the group of ethylenically unsaturated esters, moreover, the homopolymer of one of the esters has a glass transition temperature of 100 °C and higher, and the homopolymer of the other ether has a glass transition temperature below 0 °C; 2) carboxylation agent selected from the group of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids; 3) crosslinking agent selected from the group of nitrogen-containing polar monomers of the vinyl series; 4) functional monomer selected from the group of vinylsilanes; 5) mixtures of emulsifiers based on sulfonic ethers with degrees of ethoxylation of 2 and 30; 6) silicon-containing antifoam, and 7) molecular weight regulator, radical initiator and water.

EFFECT: absence of coagulum in the process of synthesis of latex, as well as in obtaining latex with low foaming ability, which eliminates the likelihood of defects in the latex film.
