FIELD: seismology; observation and geophysical data processing systems for forecasting earthquakes. SUBSTANCE: receiving station of space navigational system are located in region presenting seismic danger which are distributed in extended measuring base and continuous high-accuracy measurements of coordinates of points of location of receiving stations are carried out. Moment of appearance of periodic deviations of coordinates of points is recorded and is identified with moment of arrival of lithosphere waves. Hypothetical center of earthquake site is calculated as point of intersection of radius-vectors in space. Characteristics of probable earthquake, viz. : magnitude and moment of tremor are calculated by parameters of recorder oscillating process on base of regressive dependences.
