FIELD: seismology, national systems for surveying and processing measurement data for earthquake prediction. SUBSTANCE: swinging of seismic center on the eve of shock is accompanied by intensive radon emanation into atmosphere. Continuous arrival of radon results in accumulation of uncompensated ion charge in atmosphere and built-up of strong electromagnetic field above seismic center. Swing causes parametric modulation of electrostatic potential function of seismic center oscillations. Since even small drifts of lithosphere are accompanied by emanation of gases (radon and the like) into atmosphere, high-sensitive electrostatic field meters make it possible to record origination of dead zone in measurements. EFFECT: enhanced precision. 1 cl, 3 dwg
