FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing disinfecting agent by condensation in hexamethylene diamine and guanidine derivative and subsequently purifying the final product. Process is carried out for 1 or 2 hours at temperatures from 160 to 200 C at hexamethylene diamine to guanidine derivative molar ratio of 1:(1.2-2) respectively, one of reagents being used in the form of salt, and final product is further purified by first trituration of recrestallization in excess amount of said inroganic acid, salt of hexamethylene diamine or guanidine derivative of which is used in condensation reaction, and product is then washed with ethyl alcohol. As is obvious from second embodiment of invention method of preparing disinfecting agent is carried out by condensation in melt of hexamethylene diamine and gaunidine derivative followed by further purification of the final product. Guanidine derivative is hexamethylene guanidine dihydrochloride, and condensation process is carried out for 10-2 hours at 150-200 C at hexamethylene diamine to gaunidine derivative molar ratio of 1: 1.2, respectively, and final product is then treated, prior to cleaning, with base or inorganic salt at 10-120 C, and cleaning is carried out with water.
