FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a disinfectant that can be used in medicine, veterinary medicine, agriculture, in wastewater treatment, and in industries where biocidal preparations are required. Method for producing a disinfectant is that hexamethylenediamine and guanidine hydrochloride are charged at a molar ratio of components corresponding to 1 to 5 % of the excess of guanidine hydrochloride, and the components are heated with the agitator to 120 °C. Reaction mixture is then kept at this temperature for 2 hours. Then the temperature of the reaction mass is gradually increased to 140 °C and maintained at this temperature for 1 hour. After that, the temperature of the reaction mass is raised to 160 °C and held at this temperature for 2 hours. Further, the temperature of the reaction mass is gradually increased to 180 °C and maintained at this temperature for 1.5 hours. At the end of the exposure, the temperature of the reaction mass is gradually increased to 215 °C, after which the vacuum pump is turned on and the process continues for 0.5 to 0.7 hours under vacuum with a residual pressure of 0.1–0.9 atm. After that, the vacuum pump is switched off, and the pressure in the vessel is raised to atmospheric pressure. Resulting melt is poured into a tray, cooled to room temperature to obtain a clear glassy mass.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the disinfecting properties of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride and simultaneously reduce its toxicity and corrosiveness.
