FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves unloading arriving cars containing iron ore materials and bedding them in ore yard by means of calcium-bearing flux (lime), with calcium-bearing flux being charged in an amount of 20-50 kg/t prior to car unloading. Apparatus has charging conveyor, hopper provided with closure and positioned under charging conveyor on supporting construction, and feeder connected to hopper. Apparatus is further provided with discharge funnel, rotary chute and electric winch, and conveyor is equipped with tripper. Funnel is positioned on supporting construction and connected to feeder. Rotary chute is connected with its one end to funnel and pivotally attached on it and with its other end to electric winch mounted on supporting construction and adapted for lifting and lowering this end of chute to the level spaced from that of load sizes by distance of 150-200 mm. Chute has sectioned closure for preventing flux from spontaneous discharge from chute. EFFECT: simplified method and increased efficiency by uniform distribution of lime in pile mass. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
