APPARATUS FOR JOINING BRANCH PIPE TO OPERATING PIPELINE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: pipeline transportation of gases and liquids, possibly connection of branch pipes to operating pipeline without reducing inner pressure. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes arranged successively on pipeline: branch pipe, damper, sealed housing having inner shaft and carrying cutting tool and mechanism for rotating shaft and also mechanism for reciprocation motion of shaft in the form of screws and nuts, and centering member. Shaft is builtup one; it has main step and additional step joined with main step. Additional step includes cylindrical turning with sealing ring mounted in it and changed by slide block at demounting of apparatus. Mechanism for reciprocation motion of shaft is provided with reactive plate having central cone opening. Centering member is in the form of cylindrical land on inner surface of lower portion of branch pipe. It provides enlarged functional possibilities of apparatus that may operate with use of branch pipe having different length and diameter values.
