FIELD: gauge cylinder for checking the outside diameter of plastic pipes moving through the gauge cylinder, produced by continuous process of molding such as extrusion, or by the process of expansion. SUBSTANCE: the gauge cylinder has an inlet and outlet relative to movement of the pipe, including at least two parts of the gauge cylinder being under pressure, which have a means for liquid feed under pressure essentially in the pipe circumference for formation of a layer of lubricant between the inner surface of the gauge cylinder and the pipe. The parts of the gauge cylinder being under pressure are axially separated and isolated from each other by a drainage zone. Each part of the gauge cylinder being under pressure contains an internal member of the gauge cylinder, having a number of coaxial rings located end to end, and each having a number of feed holes stretching through it, and an annular header for liquid radially surrounding the member of the gauge cylinder receiving the liquid from the liquid feeding means and communicating with the given feeding holes. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of control of the outside diameter of the plastic pipe under internal pressure produced by continuous process of molding such as extrusion, or by the process of expansion. 13 cl, 10 dwg
