FIELD: agriculture, more particularly controlling weeds. SUBSTANCE: acylated aminophenylsulfonyl ureas have formula I: R1 and R2 which have herbicidal activity and selective effect as compared with well known compounds of this series. Acylated aminophenylsulfonyl ureas formula I wherein Z is CH or N, X and Y are halogen, alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1-6 carbon atoms or mono- or dialkylamino having 11-14 carbon atoms in each alkyl moiety; R3 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, or together with nitrogen atom to which they are attached form heteryclic ring with 3-8 ring atoms; -COR5 is R5 wherein -NH-R6 is hydrogen, alkoxy having 1-4 carbon atoms, alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms which are substituted by 1-3 halogen atoms in alkyl moiety, cycloalkyl having 3-8 carbon atoms, mono-or dialkylamino having 1-4 carbon atoms in each alkyl moiety, R6 wherein -SO2R7 is pyrimidine ring unsubstituted or substituted by two alkoxy groups having 1-4 carbon atoms, or R7 wherein R5 is as defined R4, except for alkoxy having 1-4 carbon atoms; R1 and R2 is hydrogen and alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms. Also described are intermediate phenylsulfonyl derivatives of formula wherein R8 are as defined in claims 1-4, if R9 is NH-tert-butyl, then NHR10 is nitro, amino or R10 wherein COR11 is R11 wherein R8 is hydrogen and alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, or R9 is amino, and -NHR10 is R10 wherein is as defined above. Said compounds are intermediate products for preparing acylated aminophenylsulfonyl ureas of general formula I as defined in claims 1-4. Also describe is herbidal agent comprising compounds of general formula I or salt thereof in effective amount and desired additives, and also method of controlling weeds by treatment thereof or plants, seeds thereof or with compounds of formula I or salt thereof in effective amount.
