FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel method of synthesis (its variants) of aminophenylsulfonylureas of the formula (I) eliciting properties as regulating agents of plant growth or herbicides and to intermediate compounds used for their synthesis. Method of synthesis of aminophenylsulfonylureas of the formula (I) where radical values are given in the invention claim involves treatment of compound of the formula (II) or its salt with halogenating agent to yield the corresponding carboxylic acid halogenide that is rearranged to yield the compound of the formula (III) . Then compound of the formula (III) is subjected for ammonolysis by the group SO2CL2 to yield the compound of the formula (IV) followed by reduction of the group NO2 in this compound to yield the compound of the formula (V) that is subjected for interaction with the corresponding carbamate or its salt of the formula (VI) where Ar means unsubstituted or substituted phenyl and M means hydrogen atom, C1-C4-alkyl or metal cation. Alternative method involves ammonolysis reaction of compound of the formula (III) by the group SO2CL2 and the synthesized compound of the formula (IV) is subjected for interaction with the corresponding carbamate or its salt of the formula (VI) and synthesized compound of the formula (VII) is reduced. The another alternative method involves interaction of compound of the formula (III) with cyanate or heterocyclic amine of the formula (VIII) given in the invention claim to yield the compound of the formula (VII) that is reduced. Intermediate compounds corresponding to formulas (III), (IV), (V), (VI) and (VII) are the novel ones. Invention proposes also a method to synthesize the compound of the formula (I).
