FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: described is method of radical (co)polymerization of monomeric vinyl ether, vinyl halide, diene, acrylonitrile and alpha-olefin optionally with one ore more ethylenically unsaturated monomers. Method comprises polymerization of said monomer with polymerization initiator in the presence of amount of at least one peracid polymerization degree regulator which is effective for reducing molecular weight of (co)polymer prepared by the same method without polymerization degree regulator. Said peracid polymerization degree regulator is selected from group of compounds which contain fragment of formula I: 
provided that peracid polymerization degree regulator is not polymerization initiator. EFFECT: shorter polymerization time, less effect of polymerization degree regulators on average particle size, good quality and low molecular weight of polymer. 8 cl, 18 ex, 4 tbl
