FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is multistage method of polymerization of one or more olefins of formula: CH₂=CHR wherein R is hydrogen or alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group having 1 to 10 carbo atoms. Method comprises first stage of polymerization wherein, in order to prepare olefin homo-or copolymer, one or more said polymers are polymerized in one or more reactors in the presence of catalyst comprising product of reaction between alkyl aluminium compound and solid component comprising compound of transition metal M¹ selected from group containing titanium and vanadium and containing no M¹-π bonds, and magnesium halide in active form; (B) treatment stage during course of which product prepared in first polymerization stage (A) by any method (a) is made to contact with compound capable of deactivating catalyst present in said stage (A) and (b) is made to contact with compound of transition metal M selected from group containing titanium, zirconium, vanadium or hafnium containing at least one bond M-π optionally with alkyl aluminium compound, (C) second polymerization stage in course of which one or more said olefins are polymerized in one or more reactors in the presence of product prepared in said treatment stage (B).
