FIELD: production of articles from knitted fabric. SUBSTANCE: knitted fabric is used for producing knitted ready-made clothing, such as jacket, manufactured in the form of single cloth with divided front portion. Major part of cloth or at least strip 19 adjoining to at least one edge 11 of cloth is produced on knitting machine equipped with two platforms. Auxiliary portion 20 remote from edge 11 is produced by knitting on knitting machine with single platform, with outer portion defining bent piping. Front portion is folded outside or inside for forming of, for example, neck opening 21 and/or pocket. When folded outside, cloth may define edge in divided front portion. EFFECT: simplified construction and wider range of knitted articles which may be manufactured from knitted fabric. 5 cl, 2 dwg
