FIELD: resistance furnaces in ceramic and metal-working industries, semiconductor and glass making industry. SUBSTANCE: introduced into mixer under continuously stirring are black silicon carbide, wt %: half of liquid glass with density of 1.28-1.32 g/cubic cm; black silicon carbide and black, 1.5-2.5; silicon carbide No.10 or 12, 35-40; remaining liquid glass during total stirring cycle of 50-60 minutes. Liquid glass is used in amount of 50- 60 ml per 1 kg of dry compound. Compound is rubbed through 6-8 mm sieve, rods are formed, "heat treated, current-conducting paste is applied and stepwise siliconizing firing is carried out in certain amount of quarts sand lithium cake and fluorite concentrate. Electric preheaters manufactured from black carbide compounds have higher mechanical strength, reduced porosity and lower spoilage during transportation and retain electrical resistance values with in permissible limits. EFFECT: more efficient manufacturing method. 3 cl, 3 tbl
