FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, more specifically, smelting of pig iron in blast furnace. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of charge materials to blast furnace, putting on the humidified and hot oxygen-enriched blast to blast furnace, measurement and regulation of its flow rate and also supply of coke to blast furnace. Content of oxygen in blast is determined by relationship W= (V+0.01ψ-1.0)/(4.8-3.8ψ), where W is oxygen content in blast, cu. m/cu. m of blast; V is amount of hearth gases, cu.m/cu.m of blast ψ3 is fraction of oxygen consumed in coke burning at tuyeres. Amount of hearth gases is determined by relationship V=- 36843α3+25970α2- 6097.2α+478.34, where V is amount of hearth gases, cu.m/cu.m of blast; in this case, α=0.01(0.222 FeO+0.300Fe2O3, where FeO and Fe2O3 are content values of iron oxides in iron-ore part of blast-furnace charge, wt.%.
