FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, more specifically, smelting of pig iron in blast furnace. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of charge materials to blast furnace, putting on the humidified and hot oxygen-enriched blast to blast furnace, measurement and regulation of its flow rate, supply of additional fuel through tuyeres to furnace hearth and also supply of coke to blast furnace. Consumption of additional fuel is calculated by relationship V= (ZxMxα-K)/(γ+μ), where V is specific consumption of additional fuel, cu.m/t of pig iron; K is specific consumption of coke, kg/t of pig iron; M is specific consumption of iron-ore part of charge, kg/t of pig iron; Z is coefficient equaling 1.5-2.2; α is coefficient characterizing amount of oxygen bonded to Fe in form of oxides FeO and Fe2O3; γ is value of yield of carbon monoxide Co from 1 cu.m of additional fuel equaling 1.077 cu.m/cu.m; μ is value of yield of hydrogen H2 from 1 cu.m of additional fuel equaling 2.06 cu. m/cu. m.
