FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly blast furnace processes. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of loading in blast furnace blow-in charge; controlling height of arranging in furnace first batches of charge; supplying hot blowing air in mode providing operation of blast furnace during starting up period; before supplying hot blowing air through air tuyeres blowing to furnace inert gas heated until temperature no more than 1300C in such a way that 20 - 30% of blown inert gas is discharged out of blast furnace through gas discharging tubes inserted into iron taphole or through ports in hearth lining for iron tapholes; going on such processes until temperature of gas in mouth of furnace achieves 250 - 300 C; then feeding into furnace hot blowing air with parameters of start blasting process.
