FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method for local measurement of the coercitive force of ferromagnetic objects involves magnetising an object followed by demagnetisation of the object, measuring magnetic field strength and the tangential component of the magnetic field, wherein an electromagnet is placed on the investigated local area of the object to form a composite "transducer-object" magnetic circuit with a gap; during magnetisation, the maximum value of magnetic flux is measured; the external magnetic field is switched off and the value of the tangential component of the magnetic field on the surface of the investigated area is measured; the area is then demagnetised until achieving zero magnetic flux in the circuit and the value of demagnetising current the tangential component of the magnetic field are measured, from the measurement results of which the value of the coercitive force is determined.

EFFECT: high reliability of local measurement of coercitive force.
