FIELD: high-voltage insulators for outdoor switchgear of substations. SUBSTANCE: insulator used to support current-carrying conductors or buses of high-voltage substations has porcelain insulating part made in the form of body of revolution with circular ribs and metal caps secured on ends of insulating part by means of cement stone. Newly introduced in device is at least one annular moisture-proofing packing placed on fastening joint of cap so that it partially covers cap and insulating-part surfaces.
