FIELD: manufacture of knitted products. SUBSTANCE: method involves using flat knitting machine for forming links on selected needles in each link row of wedge portion, with wedge shape being imparted by reducing the number of needles as compared to initial number of knitting needles; gradually increasing the number of knitting needles to the value smaller than the initial number used for knitting wedge-shaped portion; repeating procedures of reducing and increasing the number of needles in reverse order to the smaller or to the initial number of needles for producing wedge-shape part of three-dimensional headwear; knitting several additional identical wedge-shaped portions; removing knitted product and sewing leading end of first wedge- shaped portion to tailing end of terminating wedge-shaped portion. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of three-dimensional products. 2 dwg
