FIELD: textile industry, in particular, manufacture of lace stitch structures. SUBSTANCE: network weft-knitted fabric has rows of elongate stitches of jersey structure and alternatively arranged rows of doubled stitches composed of stitches and throw-on loops. Length of thread in doubled stitches is smaller by 1.8-2.0 times length of thread of elongate stitches of jersey structure. Elongate stitches of jersey structure and doubled stitches define cells of polygonal shape. Courses defined by interconnected elongate stitches of jersey structure and doubled stitches are arranged at an angle of 20 deg to horizontal plane. Elongate stitches of jersey structure and doubled stitches are made from two threads, with one of threads being metallic. Method involves forming jersey structure rows by knitting through of thread into stitches on needles of one needle case and forming throw-on loops on needles of other needle case; throwing-off of thrown-on loops and forming elongate stitches; providing alternatively arranged jersey structure rows and courses, the latter being formed by knitting through of thread into stitch on needles of one needle case and forming throw-on loops on needles of other needle case; transferring throw-on loops on needles of opposite needle case for forming of doubled stitches.
