FIELD: production of knitted articles with pockets.
SUBSTANCE: method involves knitting article on single or double jersey flat machine up to portion where pocket is to be knitted; knitting pocket with sequential reduction until desired depth of pocket is obtained, with following adding; providing reduction of operating needles by more than two rows of stitches; providing transfer of outer stitches or group of stitches at junction sites of sides of pocket sackcloth after each reduction operation, and knitting thread on free needle.
EFFECT: simplified process for manufacture of articles and reduced labor intensity.
