FIELD: testing technology; testing articles for degassing; industries where stringent requirements for cleanness of articles are imposed. SUBSTANCE: method consists in placing article in vacuum chamber whose walls are shielded against flux by means of degassed heat-insulating shield; then article is heated to temperature not exceeding degassing temperature and chamber is evacuated at simultaneous cooling of its walls; after evacuation, measures are taken to maintain temperature of article at required level which is equal to degassing temperature during attaining quasi-stationary mode; then, evacuation is discontinued and pressure in vacuum chamber is brought to atmospheric level; difference between article temperature and chamber wall temperature is maintained to be equal to temperature differential before evacuation of chamber. Device proposed for realization of this method includes vacuum chamber, heaters, cooling element and degassed heat-insulating shield mounted between heaters and cooling element whose size is equal to sectional plane of direct heat flux from heaters. EFFECT: reduced contamination of articles with agents separated from chamber wall surface; reduced degassing time. 3 cl, 1 dwg
