FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device measuring diameters of articles, for instance, tires of wheeled transportation facilities has transducer of number of revolutions of article and path-control transducer connected to corresponding pulse formers. Diameter of article is roughly determined by first counter counting number of measurement pulses from path-control transducer in the course of time between two adjacent command pulses sent from transducer of number of revolutions. More accurately diameter of article is measured by second counter counting number of pulses from reference frequency generator during time passed between command pulse of start of revolution of article and first measurement pulse after it and by third counter of number of pulses between first and second measurement pulses. Fourth and fifth counters operate in similar manner after arrival of command pulse of finish of revolution of article. EFFECT: increased measurement accuracy thanks to determination of angle of turn of measurement roller at start and finish of complete revolution of article justified by incompatibility of command and measurement pulses. 3 dwg
