PTCM DECODER Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H03M13/25

Abstract RU 2390930 C2

FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in digital receivers to correct errors arising in satellite information transmission channels, e.g. in a DVB-DSNG system or DVB-S system. Phase disambiguation of an I,Q-signal at the output of an I,Q-demodulator of a receiver takes place in the device during its synchronisation by using properties of a convolution code, a series of synchronisation bytes and properties of a Reed-Solomon block code. Possible phase shift of the I,Q-signal is compensated for distributively by different units of the device. Phase shift of the data bit coded by the convolution code is compensated for in a permuter with inversion of relaxed solutions and in a frame synchronisation unit. Phase shift of the data bit not coded by the convoluted code is compensated for by a phase shift compensation unit in 8PSK mode or a phase shift compensation unit in 16QAM mode using operation results of a Viterbi decoder, a Viterbi decoder synchronisation unit and a frame synchronisation unit. The device has a buffer for the I,Q-signal component 1, a permuter with inversion of relaxed solutions 2, a Viterbi decoder 3, a coding and perforation unit 4, a permuter with inversion of coded characters 5, first and second 7 XOR elements, a Viterbi decoder synchronisation unit 8, a frame synchronisation unit 9, a unit for evaluating uncoded bits in 8PSK 10 and 16QAM 11 modes, phase shift compensation units in 8PSK 12 and 16QAM 13 modes, an uncoded data multiplexer 14 and a data collection unit 15.

EFFECT: simple device and reduced incurred delays in conditions for possible phase ambiguity of an I,Q-signal at the output of a demodulator.
