FIELD: electrochemical storage batteries. SUBSTANCE: battery assembled to form light-weight structural panel has insulated battery cells. Each cell incorporates cellular structure wherein each layer in the form of cellular- structure film functions as stack of electrodes. Each electrode stack has elongated cathode, elongated separator, and elongated anode. Separator is moistened with electrolyte to facilitate electrochemical reaction such as that occurring in NiMH2, Li+, or NiCd battery, lead-acid battery, or any other similar electrochemical reaction. As an alternative, battery cell may have foamy cathode, foamy separator, and foamy cathode. Any alternative of proposed battery is capable of retaining electrochemical energy within multiple-space structure so that the latter is made relatively stiff and at the same time light in weight.
