FIELD: high-temperature electrochemical converters. SUBSTANCE: proposed electrochemical converter is designed for operation on hydrocarbon fuel in which content of sulfur compounds amounts to 50 p.p.m. and higher; this fuel does not require pre-treatment procedures and converter maintains its working condition throughout entire life without considerable and/or gradual reduction of its performance characteristics. Novelty is that electrochemical converter is made in the form of high-temperature fuel element operating at temperature of about 600 to 1200 C and is capable of internal evaporating and/or reforming of hydrocarbon fuel. One or more component parts of electrochemical converter such as connector, its contact surfaces, fuel electrode, and oxidizing electrode are made of compound containing in its composition chromium oxide and rare-earth metal oxide. EFFECT: enhanced sulfur stability and reduced internal resistance of converter. 39 cl, 5 dwg
