FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: novel composite material contains volumetric zones with controlled density which form the structure of the material, are self-reinforced as liquid flows during the filtration process, where the volumetric zones make up the larger portion of the material, each zone being in form of a section of intertwined fibres, the sections themselves being joined to each other by separate fibres, and the space inside the sections and between the sections of intertwined fibres is filled with granular material, where the fibres have surface energy of not less than 30 mJ/m2.
EFFECT: invention provides efficient removal of lead ions and chloroform from liquids while preserving structure of the material.
