FIELD: refractories industry, more particularly manufacture backing of refractories. SUBSTANCE: glassmaking furnace waste is cleared from glass melt and crushed. Crushed waste is distributed according to fractions to make up blend which comprises 55% of 1-3 mm fraction, 23% of more than 0.2 mm fraction, 14 % of more than 0.2 mm alumina powder fraction, 6.5 % of orthophosphoric acid, and 0.9-2.7% of water. Blend is made homogeneous, mold is filled, and is molded by vibrocompactness method. Molded products are placed into chamber drier and dried at temperature of 70 C. Dry semiproduct is transferred into firing kiln, sintering is carried out, isothermally maintained at 1200-1620 C for 3 hours and cooled to room temperature.
