METHOD OF EXTRACTION OF URANIUM FROM ORES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: extraction of uranium from ores by method of heap or underground leaching. SUBSTANCE: method comprises filtration of leaching solutions containing sulfuric acid and nitrate ions through ore conversion of six-valent uranium, divalent iron into production solutions, extraction of uranium therefrom to prepare mother liquors. In preparing leaching solutions, sulfuric and nitric acids are added to same mother liquors in amount of 0.05-0.15 of initial volume thereof so as to attain oxidative-reducing potential of 750-850 mv, the resulting solution is then contacted with other part of mother liquors as to attain oxidative-reducing potential of 420-500 mv.
