FIELD: heavy-current pulse equipment, acceleration equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to generate heavy- current high-voltage electric pulses of rectangular form to feed accelerators, plasma, liner loads, etc. Current interrupter is located in zone of side or outer electrode and certain electric coupling is realized between electrodes, current interrupter and power supply source. Technical result of invention lies in exclusion of influence of current interrupter on insulator separating load from volume of forming line which contributes to increased reliability of generator and results in reduction of linear dimensions of generator as transfer of current interrupter from zone near axis makes it possible to design generators with linear dimensions smaller than those of current interrupter. EFFECT: exclusion of influence of current interrupter on insulator. 2 cl, 4 dwg
