FIELD: high-voltage pulse engineering. SUBSTANCE: generator has grounded electrode forming shorted-out stepping line in the form of series-connected sections of homogeneous lines with distributed parameters of equal electric length T0. Inner space of first section of stepping line accommodates high-voltage electrode that divides mentioned section into two homogeneous lines. Parallel-connected load and current interrupter are provided at output of stepping line. Voltage supply is inserted between high-voltage and grounded electrodes. Inserted in series with grounded electrode at any point are parallel- connected current supply and switching tube. Additional homogeneous line whose electric length equals T0 is inserted on one end between high-voltage and grounded electrodes at point of connection of first and second sections of stepping line. Switching tube is connected on other end of additional line. Under matched conditions when generator efficiency in ideal case is 100%, square pulse is shaped across load its length being equal to double transit time of electromagnetic wave over length of separate section of stepping line. EFFECT: increased output voltage in shaping square pulse across matched resistive load at high efficiency. 1 dwg
