FIELD: high-voltage pulse engineering. SUBSTANCE: generator has grounded electrode forming short- circuited stepped line in the form of at least two series-interconnected sections of uniform lines with distributed parameters of equal electrical length T0. High-voltage electrode placed inside first section of stepped line divides this section into two uniform lines. Parallel-connected load and current interrupter are connected at output of stepped line. Voltage supply is inserted between high-voltage and grounded electrodes. Parallel-connected current supply and discharger are inserted in series with ground electrode at any point. One end of additional uniform line whose electrical length equals T0 is inserted between high-voltage and ground electrodes at point of connection of first and second sections of stepped line. Switching tube is connected at other end of additional line. Shaped across load in matched mode when generator efficiency in ideal case is 100% is rectangular voltage pulse which is twice as long as transit time of electromagnetic wave lengthwise of separate section of stepped line. Voltage amplitude is higher than charging voltage. EFFECT: increased output voltage of generator when shaping rectangular voltage pulse across matched resistive load at high efficiency. 1 dwg
