FIELD: engraving of precise patterns on nonmetallic surfaces, as well as manufacture of relief printed circuit boards. SUBSTANCE: the engraver's tool has a tool point in the form of a trihedral truncated pyramid. The datum surface of the truncated pyramid consists of two mutually perpendicular planes. A bush having an end chamfered edge filled with a strengthening compound is installed on the tool shank. Grooves are made on the side surface of the bush and tool, the bush is provided with am adjusting washer, and the tool groove is filled with a strengthening substance. EFFECT: compatibility of the tool construction with the up-to-date automated machine tools, introduction of datum surface for precise sharpening of the tool point, as well enhanced precision and finish of surface and prolonged service life of the tool. 1 dwg
