DEVICE FOR MEASURED CUTTING OF ROD AND TUBULAR ARTICLES MADE OF POLYMERIC MATERIALS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: machining of polymeric materials, applicable for measured cutting of rod and tubular articles. SUBSTANCE: device has a unit for blank feed to the cutting zone, cutting unit guide with a knife member in the form of a flat knife installed for reciprocating motion from a pneumatic actuator, device for adjustment of the length of the cut article, and a control system. In addition use is made of a guide prism having a lateral stop, mounted on the base and used as a support of the article fed to the cutting zone. The knife member, containing a body with guide columns, is installed in the guide bushings of a movable frame perpendicularly to the direction of its motion from the pneumatic actuator and provided with an additional pneumatic actuator moving the body with the knife and guide columns perpendicularly to the direction of motion of the movable frame. The device provides for cutting both of short and long articles irrespective of the cross-section dimensions. EFFECT: enhanced quality of cut. 2 cl, 2 dwg
