ODOR CATCHER (ALTERNATIVES) AND WASTE LIQUID DRAIN SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: odor catchers for drain devices or urinals. SUBSTANCE: odor catcher has case filled with liquid and provided with top lid; at least one hole made in lid for liquid passage to case; partition installed in case to divide the latter into intake compartment and discharge one; drain riser with bleed hole mounted in discharge compartment; top edge of riser is used as overflow edge. Case is used for holding certain amount of lower-density liquid which forms layer of liquid compaction floating on surface of liquid contained in intake compartment. First alternative is characterized in that horizontal distance measured from at least one of holes made in lid to end of partition along which liquid passed through catcher moves is greater than vertical distance measured from level of overflow edge to bottom end of partition; liquid flow path under partition is mainly horizontal. In second alternative this distance is greater by more than 30% than distance equal to that from case center to its side part on height of lower edge of partition. Description of waste liquid drain system which uses mentioned odor catcher is given in invention.
