FIELD: heat-power engineering; methods of reducing the forming of nitric oxides in course of burning fuel in burner units of boiler plants. SUBSTANCE: method consists in burning mazout at ratio of water and mazout from 0.2 to 0.3 kg/kg. A burner designed for the method embodiment has coaxial central and peripheral passages which are communicated with water source and fuel source, respectively. Passages are provided with swirlers having helical bores; outlets of peripheral passage are located over circumference which is symmetrical relative to burner axis and outlet of central passage is located in axis of burner. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of reduction of nitric oxides concentration. 14 cl, 2 dwg
