FIELD: analysis of natural water and sewage. SUBSTANCE: described is method of determining nitrates and nitrites in liquid media by test method along violet-colored test band zone having size of (3-4) x (80-90) mm glued into polymeric film and contacting with one end with liquid under study. Impregnating paper is dialdehyde cellulose paper which is covalently bonded with 1-naphthyl amine or N-naphthyl-1-ethylene diamine; diazo constituent is novocaine or anesthesin immobilized on paper.
