FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: semiquantitative method for determining iron is performed through consecutively impregnating filter paper by 0.004-0.008 M cupric sulfate solution and 0.04-0.08 M potassium hexacyanoferrate(II, III) solution followed by determining iron concentration from colored zone length arising when liquid being examined moves over indicator paper strip wrapped by polymer film.
