FIELD: display engineering. SUBSTANCE: known display of this kind has two flat glass plates of which one is transparent and other carries phosphor-covered anode segments connected through current-conducting tracks to external leads for their connection to voltage supply; black contrast mask; cathode plate with emitter assemblies deposited on its surface and separated from each other by vacuum gap; insulating frame that functions to interconnect plates through sealed joint; novelty is that black mask is, essentially, nonsprayed getter assembly built in display and made of porous material possessing getter properties with respect to chemically active residual gas. Known process for manufacturing field-emission cathodoluminescent display includes following operations: formation of emitter plate; deposition of anode segments, current-conducting tracks, and contact pads on plate surface; evaporation of insulating layer; deposition of phosphor onto anode segments; formation of black contrast mask; device encapsulation; connection of external leads to contact pads; novelty is that mentioned black contrast mask is made of porous material possessing getter properties with respect to chemically active residual gases.
