FIELD: formulations of gas generating compositions used in gas generators for systems intended for forcing out liquid and powder-like substances. SUBSTANCE: carbonate comprises potassium nitrate, novolac phenol- formaldehyde resin, basic magnesium composition, ammophos, ratios of components being as follows, wt %: potassium nitrate, 53.5-60.0;novolac phenol-formaldehyde resin, 16.0-24.5; basic magnesium carbonate, 6.0- 18.0; ammophos, 5.0-17.0. Composition has improved service characteristics due to lower temperature of the resulting gases and greater specific gas efficiency. EFFECT: improved properties of the composition. 1 tbl
