BULLET OF HUNTING GUN SHELL Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: hunting gun ammunition. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to bullets intended for shooting rifled weapons at medium and long distances, specifically, to expansion bullets deforming with hitting tissue of animal. Bullet of hunting gun shell is made of lead core positioned in metal jacket with formation of free volume at vertex in head part of bullet over length equal to 0.60-0.84 length of head part. In internal surface of jacket there is made cylindrical annular groove which bottom is conjugate on one side to side surface of groove forming ring ledge whose surface is perpendicular to axis of bullet and is remote from vertex of bullet by distance equal to 0.70-0.85 length of head part. Front butt of core is remote from ledge towards vertex of bullet by distance larger or equal to 0.01 length of head part and side surface of core contacts entire profiled internal surface of jacket over section confined between butts of core. Additional ring and longitudinal grooves can be made in internal surface of jacket of head part. EFFECT: increased shooting accuracy thanks to provision for stable position of heavy lead core in jacket while bullet dashes out of barrel and over trajectory of its flight which prevents displacement of gravity center, enhanced hitting effect. 2 cl, 4 dwg
